WALT DISNEY WORLD PARKS NEWS
October 24 – Private Dining will no longer be available 24-hours a day. It will now be available 6:00am – 12:00am. However, select deluxe resort will offer Late Night Private Dining until 2:00am. (Link)
October 24 – In anticipation of the release of the Disney*Pixar Movie Coco, Disney Springs will be home for the Coco Family Celebration beginning October 27 and lasting through November 26. It will take place at Disney’s Springs’ West Side. (Link)
October 25 – The highly successful Epcot Festival of the Arts is not only returning in 2018, it is expanding to seven days a week. The festival will run from January 12 – February 19. (Link)
October 25 – Disney on Broadway dinner packages are now available for the 2018 Epcot Festival of the Arts. Similar to the Candlelight Dinner Processional Dinner Packages, Guests will received priority seating at the Disney on Broadway shows each night. (Link)
October 26 – The SpectacuLAB interactive show will debut at Epcot in November. During the show, guests will to join a group of real scientists for experiments pertaining to ultrasonic pressure, barometric pressure, acceleration and force to the test. (Link)
October 26 – Orlando International Airport (MCO) suggests getting to airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight due to new TSA carry-on screening procedures. (Link)
October 27 – runDisney has released the course map for the Disney Fall Feast 5K. The course will run through Pandora – The World of Avatar. (Link)
October 28 – The highly popular “Jingle Cruise” will return to Magic Kingdom Park on November 2. (Link)
October 30 – runDisney released the dates of their races for late 2018 and 2019. While there were no surprises in the line up of Walt Disney World-hosted races, as expected, the race does not include any races at Disneyland due to construction taking place there. Also, again this year runDisney will be offering ‘Virtual Running Shorts”. (See graphic)
October 31 – Walt Disney World is diligently working on keeping alligators out of the waters around Disney property. In the 15 months prior to the tragic death of Lane Graves, 45 alligators were removed. Since June 2016, 95 were removed. This is partially because Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission has increased the number of alligators it is allowing to be removed from property. (Link)
October 31 – The new tiger cubs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom have names. Jeda (male, on left) and Anala (female, on right) are now two months old. I really don’t have any other info about these two but they are so stinking cute I just wanted a reason to share their pictures. (Link)
November 1 – Choza de Margarita walk-up window will be opening soon in the Mexico Pavilion is Epcot’s World Showcase. (Link)
November 1 – Mickey Mouse’s birthday is just around the corner and again this year he will be setting off on an adventure to celebrate his birthday around the world. (Link)
November 2 – If you are like me you have resisted getting Disney-inspired phone cases because they are typically so flimsy. Well now you are all set, OtterBox will now be offered Disney-themed phone cases at D-Tech locations throughout Walt Disney World and Disneyland. These cases will be for iPhone 8, 8 Plus, 7 and 7 Plus. (Link)
DISNEYLAND
October 25 – A new resort is coming to Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District. The new 700-room resort, which seems reminiscent of Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort, will feature an monorail platform and is expected to open in 2021. (Link)
October 28 – Pixar Fest will begin at Disneyland on April 13, 2018. The Fest will include a new fireworks show, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular”, and parade called the “Pixar Play Parade”. (Link)
November 2 – Pixar Pier will open in the Summer of 2018 featuring newly themed attractions, food and merchandise. (Link)
DISNEY CRUISE LINE
October 20 – Disney Cruise Line won the Conde Nast’s Annual Readers Choice Awards #1 Large Ship Line. (Link)
October 26 – The itineraries for early 2019 have been released. They include an extended stay in San Diego and three special sailings from San Juan, Puerto Rico. (Link)
DISNEY MOVIE/ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
October 24 – As we eagerly await the arrival of Frozen on Broadway, Olaf is going to get a chance to make his debut early on the Great White Way as a balloon at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. (Link)
October 31 – It’s almost the Most Wonderful time of the Year! No, I am not just talking about Christmastime. I am talking about Freeform’s 25 days of Christmas and this year is better than ever because not only will Freeform be airing holiday shows, so will ABC, Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior! (Link)
November 1 – A new teaser trailer from Star Wars: The Last Jedi was aired during the Game 7 of the World Series.
November 1 – The cast for the new live-action version of the Lion King is complete. It was rounded out with the announcement that the queen bee herself, Beyoncé, will voice the part of Nala. (Link)
